Even when a project feels like it's complete, it's never really done. As the Quon began recording Confidence Doubt, his producer and creative partner Kendall P went on hiatus. Not wanting to cross streams with two wildly different producers with wholly unique philosophies and sounds, seven newly orphaned songs found their way onto the Albert Ave Sessions Mixtape.

Once the Quon started working with a new producer, new sketches for Confidence / Doubt took shape with darker, DIY undertones. C/D was released in February 2023, but already, the song bank was refilling with new concepts and sonic templates. As the number of songs grew, there was soon enough for a new album and an EP. Just in time, Kendall P was back producing music and the Quon was ready to hit the studio. But rather than release separate EPs, the Albert Ave Sessions is now a longer mixtape. Comprising 13 songs and a spoken word introduction, these disparate projects are unified together in a single unified album.

Songs 2-8 (2021) are filled with doubt and anxiety emerging from the depths of the pandemic. Songs 9-13 (2023) reflect an increasing confidence as the Quon has seen his personal, professional and creative star rise. Despite thematic differences, both sections show an artist ready to push creative boundaries and get personal.
